Having original band cloth, whether 6 or 7 strands, I wonder why Lane did not make a better attempt to recreate real RZM period lettering?

If he had done that and left off fake RZM paper labels, Lane may have been able to make the "perfect" reproduction.

He certainly had sufficient original lettering on original CTs to use as models.

Come, come Peter - if we continue to discuss the band we may convince ourselves that it has possibilities, and besides, absence of evidence is not evidence of absence is it

Gary I think this was probably made when Ken Lane entered his "I'm having a laugh" phase, which is when bands such as "SS Panzer Division" and even "Dummkopf" were made. There are quite a few references to Ken Lane on the forum worth reading.

What I don't think has been mentioned yet is that Florian Geyer was only manufactured in bevo not RZM, as well as the fact that no genuine RZM band has letters in the script featured here.
So even if he had manufactured this in original lettering it would still be an imperfect fake.

          best

          Tom

BUT if they were unpicked and re-embroidered by hand ....

                Florian Geyer Cuff title

                Greetings,
Enclosed is a period photo showing the Florian Geyer cuff title in wear. You can see that it isn't a BEVO title rather something made locally. I've seen other titles in this pattern too. Sincerely, DJB
