Hello guys,
This is my catch of the day, a very nice Waffen SS Jerrycan in used but good condition.
When I first saw it I thought it wasn't any good because the runes are sideways but
when I did a closer inspection I saw the jerrycan was 100% original!
But... why are the runes sideways? I found another example on the internet and they
thought it could be because some jerrycans were mounted sideways on vehicles and
therefor had sideways runes... sounds plausible but perhaps someone can tell me more
about this subject?
Also, when you look closely at the runes you can see it was stamped first with a
vertical SS marking and afterwards re-stamped with a horizontal SS marking!
Let me know what you guys think!
Best regards,
Floris
