Waffen SS vinyl album - with bonus!

    Hi,

Just got back from Germany today, attending the funeral of my mother-in-law who died suddenly last week.
Not a happy time, sorting legal stuff etc; and no thoughts of anything militaria related.
However, after the funeral service one of my cousins gave me a German vinyl LP entitled "Lieder, Die Wir Einst Sangen" which was released on RBM Records 9023.
No date of release, (maybe late sixties, early seventies?) but the album consists of sixteen tracks sung by a choir of Waffen SS veterans in Minden Westfalen.
In the UK, a company called Tomahawk Records have released two CD's from the same source (I believe) as there cannot be too many choirs of SS vets in Minden!
Not a big deal perhaps, as many of these recordings were produced - but this one is signed on the front cover by all twenty SS veterans who were in the choir!
Not an SS collector myself, but this to me is something special, as most (or all) of these men have probably died since.

    Best wishes,

    John.

    Hi John,

I find your post really interesting...any chance to see a picture of the record..?..or maybe a link to a song..?

    Best regards,

    Hans Kristian

      Hi Hans Kristian,

I am not an associate member, so I cannot post pictures.
The track listing on the album is as follows:-
All of these song titles should be on Youtube, so you can listen to them there.
I am almost certain these songs were sung without music by this choir, and were released on CD by Tomahawk records in the UK.
Unfortunately, I do not have a record player, so I cannot listen to the recordso I cannot provide more details about these recordings.

      Best wishes,

      John.
