Hi,
Just got back from Germany today, attending the funeral of my mother-in-law who died suddenly last week.
Not a happy time, sorting legal stuff etc; and no thoughts of anything militaria related.
However, after the funeral service one of my cousins gave me a German vinyl LP entitled "Lieder, Die Wir Einst Sangen" which was released on RBM Records 9023.
No date of release, (maybe late sixties, early seventies?) but the album consists of sixteen tracks sung by a choir of Waffen SS veterans in Minden Westfalen.
In the UK, a company called Tomahawk Records have released two CD's from the same source (I believe) as there cannot be too many choirs of SS vets in Minden!
Not a big deal perhaps, as many of these recordings were produced - but this one is signed on the front cover by all twenty SS veterans who were in the choir!
Not an SS collector myself, but this to me is something special, as most (or all) of these men have probably died since.
Best wishes,
John.
