Waffen SS "tropical" tunics, or Russian material?

I have a question regarding a specific photo. It's easy enough to find, but I cannot post it.

The photo is of two members of the 5th SS Wiking division. They appear to be wearing what at first looks like DAK tunics that were requisitioned for SS use. As well as pants, and Gebirgsjager boots. Don't know why they had mountain boots with lightweight tunics, but that doesn't really pertain to my question. What I'm wondering is: Are the tunics in this photo "tropical/Afrika" tunics, or are these field made? Also, if anyone has any other photos of Wiking specifically with these tunics, or anything like it, please post them!

    Thanks.

You are talking about this picture no doubt...Image might be from the Caucasus Mountains region
where Wiking also operated, hence this clothing/boots combination. Obviously a posed image in a photo studio.
As I understand it these uniform types are predecessors of the SS Sahariana and not widely worn.
These are issue SS tunics, (so not company field made using foreign materials as you hinted, depot issued, but soon replaced with Saharianas)
A surviving example appears in this book, but these have nothing to do with DAK of course, just Sudfront clothing!

Do note that Wiking in the Caucasus region did not wear such tropical clothing in general...not the norm
based on the lack of photographic evidence...
They wore shirts, smocks and camo caps...light gear...Mountain boots would come in handy !
These images show the norm in that region! (photocredit : 5sswiking.tmblr)
