    SS M43 tunic help

    Hi all,

May I ask for your opinions on this WSS Gebirgsjäger Rottenführer M43 tunic? As I know, all the insignias are re-applied to the tunic, so is it worth buying? I'm not familiar with SS clothes, I would appreciate all your help.

    Many thanks,
    Yun

It´s a good tunic with good insignias. Well worth the money, IMO.
Today, if you can get your hands on a guaranteed 100% untouched WSS tunic, the price would, at least, be the double.

honest tunic 99.9% of people saying "untouched" about their tunics are lying to themselves. in reality this is as close as you can get to original

While everything I see is original, how can it be said that all insignia 100% original to the tunic?
        It cant.
Those tabs and eagle could well have been put on 20 years ago and you could not possibly know it.
All this hocus pocus about how the threads are sunk in etc. simply does not hold water.
There are times when one sees a tunic and can be reasonably sure about the insignia, but in this case I see nothing that proves without doubt the insignia has or has not been there since 1945.

A very respectable looking tunic that would show nicely.

All I can say is if the insignia are replaced, the person doing the replacement did an excellent and believable job. Like others have said, this is about the best one can hope for with an SS tunic.

The dealer clearly declares, that all insignia have been resewn.

Sorry, my bad, I did not notice the caption! At any rate, this tunic is a good lesson on what to look for not only in resewn insignia, but how original tunics were constructed. Original insignia were usually sloppily and hastily sewn, which the insignia on this tunic have not been. They are too well done.
Also, the shoddy material and poor construction seen on this tunic has never been duplicated correctly on fakes.

The only thing I believe could be improved on is the sleeve eagle ... last type from Dachau. A mid-war style would suite the rest of the insignia better.

                            Just my thoughts.

good tunic from a trusted dealer.
If you can live with the restored insignia - go for it !
