    Dachau made items.

    Hi all,
I'm bored this eve, my mom and dad are gone and my brother and I are terrorizing the babysitter with the nice K98. So why not a little poll.
    "Do you believe in them"

    "yes": you believe in them
"no": you don't believe in them.

    Easy?

Yes...I have gotten many such items in the past, including some about a week ago (check my site in the cloth section for some titles that came along with about 15 others--the vet took one each of what he could find there at the depot--he mailed 3 boxes of stuff home, one was stolen while in transit, the other two made it home of which he was able to locate one so far).

        ABSOLUTELY NO QUESTION!

Yes, they exist and in many premiere collections today, Directly from veterans aquired! What kind of other proof do you need? I can recall a few instances where dealers have purchased/traded for patches of all sorts and exposed Dachua M43 caps.

Thanks for your inputs lads! We already have 7 believers and 2 non-believers, the non-believers may say something too!
            Cheers,

              Dachau Cloth

              Hi guys,
I believe in Dachau cloth 110%. I have gotten some from a relative and many veterans. To me, it is a topic not even worth discussing, it exists. For example, this is what I obtained from the grandson of a WWII veteran in April 2004.
              Regards,
              Jody

                  Dachau material

Dachau Bekleidungslager. The scholarly book (with full documentation) on the economic enterprises of the SS, Hermann Kaienburg, Die Wirtschaft d. SS (Metropol:Berlin, 2003) describes on pp. 114-138 the advent and development of various handicrafts and industrial enterprises first at Dachau and later elsewhere. The clothing works are described in detail. The Beaver book has documentary evidence of orders to the same locale for clothing and equipment. In my collecting career (since 1967...), I have seen noteworthy caches of stuff from this source brought back by veterans to the Cal. Bay Area, as have many other California collectors of long standing. To be sure, I am confident that some fakers have used Dachau as a cover for their mischief, but I have seen too much authentic material to think otherwise.

I think the US collectors tend to believe in the Dachau items...as we were the ones to benefit from what the vets took..while some European collectors are skeptical.

Donald has it nailed..most Every seasoned colector has seen nice hit by a friend..a grouping at a show..or gotten it personally from numerous vets that went through Dachau in 1945-46.there was so much **** there they were sending DP back home in ss clothing unifroms and camo outfits for months after the war... loved years ago seeing at a big gun show when nazi stuff was a sideline a the least ..a feildgrey fez that had been used as a candy bag to load up with insignia at dachau..and yes many fake items are spiced up with the dachau story...
