              Some one has filed down the SS in front of the SS373/43 as there isn't a skull with any SS markings on.
              As others has stated a fake

                Yes, and those round sockets behind the prong discs are incorrect as well.
                These are commonly found on fake SS eagles as well as skulls.

                  This skull was sold for around 100$.
                  Seller describes it as 100% orginal SS skull not cleaned.
                  As he wrote he leave the cleaning pleasure for a ,,Happy new owner"
                  He also wrote -skull was founded on Frische Nehrung area.
                  In my opinion this skull was lost during Events and historical reenactments
                  of the WW II battle.
                  But after one year in ground such patina..............

                    A seemingly obvious attempt to deceive, imo, as he gives too much information.
                    Smarter dealers will often make up a story that leaves them room to appear naive and innocent though, in case their piece is scrutinized by several people. Pay no attention to a story unless you already know that the piece is 100% authentic. Just my thoughts.
