Some of you might seen this one for sale few weeks back. I was the guy who took the risk and bought it. It came few days back and I would like to ask you for opinion as something concern me in this particular jacket ( there are thing I like and other I don't - that's why I would like to get opinion from other more experience collectors ).
It looks like postwar used for some kind of non german related duty ( strange insignia and this big, black, wide stripe at the back which is definately not repair ( found no damages under it ) but some kind of strange indetification insignia of some kind.
Seems it never had WSS insignia as there are absolutely not traces of such being applied even for very short period of time.
All buttons are definately resewn ( by hand ) as they are strange mix of steel, zink and aluminium pebbled buttons with some dirty, glass buttons in cuffs and bandage pocket (probably had some other, probably civilian, buttons and were replaced )- all sewn very same way with very same thread.
Cloth which was used to made this jacket is definately wartime, captured, thin, italian wool used to made shirts ( by Italians and after 1943 by Germans in very late stage of war); have one of those german late war shirts made of thin, italian wool so I absolutely sure about that (I compared it).
The liner looks also like good wartime syntetic silk which you can find in all kind of field jackets ( from Heer to WSS ).
The collar is wider than standart heer jacket collar .
The liner of collar looks to be good wartime ribbed cotton cloth.
The sleeve look longer than whole jacket ( which very typical for WSS jackets ).
Size of the jacket match the ink size stamps ( jacket seems to be for someone between 160-170 cm high ).
What me concerns the most are the buttons hole, hook holes and the dirt under the collar which seems to be also under thread ( thread doesn't look dirt in spots were the colar liner is dirty ). If you find some red flags than please let me know and point them.
If there is everything ok for you, than please also let me know about it. if it turns out to be fake than I will do everything to send it back to seller and get the money back .
Thanks in advance for your help guys.
The liner has only 2 steps sewing ( a bit rounded )
