French made sleeve eagle ?

Hello all,

Somebody stated they thought this was a French produced variant sleeve eagle, but I do not agree. I thought these were deemed reproductions from the 70's weren't they? None of the other eagles that are thought to be French produced (KM, Coastal Artillery, Heer M43) have this cheesecloth backing either.

it could have been me that stated that i was told this eagle was of french manufacture because i was!!
i still keep one, [just in case]
any proof this eagle is post war made?

Any proof of these being war time ?
It seems anything of odd appearance of late is possibly French ?
If this is the case they made some very odd items of insignia

don't get me wrong, I'm not a believer of the originality of this eagle, but would still like proof rather than, 'it looks weird'
it does look 'weird' though!!

I believe Mr Weitze initiated this as French made, more then 10 years ago... ? But anyway, it's incorrect. it's a fake to me.
