The old coarsely stippled fake strikes again!
This is possibly a die struck, postwar Souval piece...the same type of stippling can be found on the postwar Souval (thorny wreathed) 8 years. The eyelet on this one is pretty far off the mark, but they can also be found with a mixture of both (possibly original) Type I & Type II eyelets & supension loops. A batch of these 4 years appeared on the market recently which were all allegedly 'ground dug' on the sites of various last stand SS Battles...the eyelets and suspension loops were convieniently missing from them all.
