    Bullion sleeve eagle

Guys I need your opinion on the value of a SS bullion sleeve eagle I have a chance to get. Can't post pics because I'm not a member so you have to take my word on what it is. I just need to know what the value of one is that's in uniform worn condition. Only condition issue it has is a loose black thread on to of the rite wing. It still has pieces of black thread in it where it was removed from the tunic. The back has had the paper removed where you can see all the threads. I just need to know what a fair price estimate would be for it. I understand you guys can't give me a exact value without seeing it. But I need a price range on it so I can offer the owner a fair price. Only ones I see on dealer sites with is only a few are mint with the paper backs and rzm tagged. So please just give me a range of what you think would be a fair offer for one. Thanks in advance I'm very excited for this it's my first real SS woodwork find.

One was sold yesterday for 900 USD.
The price can range pending how the eagle looks and what kind of style it is.

Get a membership, it's better with photos.

Describing such an item is completly useless, IMO. Photos are needed!

I think it is worth a lot of those rectangular green printed paper with various pictures, faces and denomanations from 1 to 10 printed on it. You find some in used and also in unused condition. I think you should offer a hand or envelope full of these. Hope this helps. J

            Hello,

In good used condition and original, 900 to 1400 USD is ballpark. Hope that helps.

If you can afford a $1000 sleeve eagle surely you can afford $25 for a membership?

One this post is both clever and funny

but on a serious note, for a long time "jacquesf" badgered me to get a membership and front up with the US$25 which is not really that much.

In hindsight, that was very good advise. It will create nothing but problems for yourself by trying to avoid it. Take it from one who knows. At the end of the day why would you not want to invest in the forum that has just helped you answer this question and perhaps made you feel good/ right about what you just paid for that eagle.

I think it is all our interests to keep WAF financially viable and going strong

Personally, I cannot see why you have to pay 25.00 to post a picture.
Different story if you use this site/forum to conduct a business and sell your items, but to pay 25.00 to post a picture or 2 prevents alot of nice items from being shown.
There are other forums that do not charge to post picture but also have a premium membership (fee) if you want to use the sight to buy and sell. I don't think you should equate the purchase of an item justification to buy a membership. Ron

I suppose this raises the question of fairness to those who do pay the $25 to post pictures. Should those who do not, be allowed to attach images by other means ? Especially when one considers how the images from other servers often disappear over time. Thus some threads become some what useless.

And coming back to the SS eagle that started this thread. There is still every chance that it is one of the high end fakes that guys like John Pic consistently worn us all here about or identify via images added to threads like this. If it was me I would have added an image before I paid given the quality of fake SS officer sleeve eagles out there these days.

You guys are right you can't advise nor purchase what you can't see...but I have some land in Florida I wanna sell you if you disagree...and you can use a photo server to post photos free ...I would make sure you get a written guarantee before laying out the Bucks stating if it is deemed fake here you get a full cash refund.
Oh by the way others can post your photos for you....if you ask...yes shall be given....but if you don't post the eagle prior to purchase ye shall get screwed.
