I see no signs of any glue. There is some discoloration to much of the stitching on the reverse, but no residue which would indicate glue of any sort.

There are the small holes through the backing indicating that it had been sewn to a uniform, so perhaps the stain came from the material or something which had been absorbed by the uniform material. I have met a few dealers who would tell you it was a blood stain and double the price.
