    SS Eagle M1/167 ?

    Guys need a little help on this one,, what is this one made of? zinc or cupal and did they make these from alum or any other metals.

    Nice hicke eagle. From the pictures provided I'd say aluminum. These are quite rare

          Sorry to disagree, but this one is a nickel-plated zinc eagle that is really minty. These are earlier than the later, painted eagles.

          There were aluminum ones and those are extremely rare.
          Here is a photo. Note: the different prongs, prong attachments, and the location of the "SS".
          You will also find that the pebbling around the swastika on the front side is different on the aluminum ones.

                      I have never seen a nickel-plated SS skull, so I think that they probably wore these with the silver-plated SS skulls. Hard to say for sure.
