    Early SS Cap Eagles

I think these are all fakes but I don't know enough about them to make a completely accurate judgment of them. Any help would be appreciated. There are no RZM marks on these at all.

        Eagles

They're all from the same manufacturer - they may be ok, but the eagles heads seem to be poorly stamped. Since these early eagles vary from manufacturer to manufacturer, it's sometimes difficult to tell if original. Here are 2 originals to compare..

          Eagles

Photos - note their expressions.....they're quite serious little birds!!
Bottom bird is RZM marker. Top eagle, I don't know, because it's on a cap.
PS: The bottom eagle is one of the nicest I've ever seen. The wing was almost broken off, but I repaired it.
Notice the extra embellishment of the wings near the head, and the way the wings are overlapped.

I know they were also worn by the SA.

These are the early eagles worn by both the SS and SA. There is no difference between them. They were produced by many makers and have many small variations. To my knowledge, they never had RZM marks, which only appeared after both services had their own new designs.
They are quite common and do not have much monetary value.

RZM marked examples are not uncommon and I have had a few come from vet groups.

This so called M1929 eagle was also worn by PL, SA, HJ, DAF, DLV, Stahlhelm and various other labor and veteran's organizations. I's guess 5% at most were worn by SS. I too have gotten RZM marked examples from veterans, including one with 4 prongs.

Thanks for all the reply's. I am sorry I should have been a little more specific with my question as I know who they were worn by and how they were worn.

I am also aware that they really are not worth a heck of a lot but I have 16 of them and that adds up.

My question really is are these original or not?

                      Thanks
