Found another printed SS eagle in wear!

While surfing the web I found this exciting image!
Taken in Tuscany (Toskana) Italy, summer 1944! Too bad his M43 cap got cropped in the image!

A RFSS Division Unterscharfuhrer with a printed sleeve eagle on his shirt!

It sure does look that way, but I seriously doubt that...its a printed eagle stitched on!

Just noticed the camouflaged schwimmwagen (round rear body) in the back ground, parked under a tree!

I am probably going to be skewered for this but...I am not at all sure that is printed. It could very well be a Bevo eagle as the photo is not clear enough to determine this with certainty.

You can tell it's printed because the wings appear to be wider than embroidered or BeVo eagles and also the way it folds with the shirt creases..
                  no doubt for me.

                          Printed Eagle

That's a great picture Nick and thanks for referencing my tunic. It's interesting to see these things in use and the various uniforms they were applied to.

Thanks for sharing the photo Nick.
Definitely a printed eagle, great to see more and more evidence popping up over the years.

                              Regards, Jim
