    Original OAK Hosen

Hello all, so tell me what I have here? Obviously very well made from original material with original techniques.
Opinions? I have not been able to find an original issue pair like this. Note they are a manufactured item, see the size tag and they had a paper tag next to it which is now gone (see pics)
    Thanks, Michael

By the way ,they were being sold as a one of a kind pair of reproductions for $60.

There is a small vertical pocket that runs down the right rear leg seam that they attempted to match fairly well with the pattern on the trousers.

Placket , buttonholes and buttons all good.
Even the pockets are done in camo which seems odd.

Nice colors, never worn from what I can tell.
Sizing tag and remnant of a paper tag, it is definitely paper.

This is a bad pic and I can take another one, but it shows the long unsewn thread running from the top of one stitch line down to another as seen on smocks etc.
            Thanks !

IMO a reproduction made from original material.

Thanks, what about the tag and paper label, perfect buttonholes, tons of work overall with small details, and all for $60?
If this were a cut up mint Oak Zeltbahn there would be $750 worth of fabric in them.
I appreciate the input, but do you have anything specific you think points towards being modern made? Thanks

A few reasons. First, of course, theyre trying to mimic regulation factory made trousers, but clearly aren't factory made. The buttonholes aren't key hole- while this isn't a crucial determining factor, it definitely is not the norm if they were period factory made. Most likely made in the 80s or 70s out of a zeltbahn, which, back then, wouldn't be too expensive.

OK thanks, well from the 70's or 40's they are in great shape !

Also, never seen hangers in period trousers, or even tags like that one for that matter.

What I find interesting is the back belt set up is very similar to the Gaberdine straight leg trousers.

Me neither or lined with camo and pockets of camo which is another thing that makes me wonder why would someone go to such lengths to reproduce something and not get that right ?
If I am not wrong there were a few variations on the issue Oak camo trousers until they settled on a final version.
I am not someone desperately grasping for something to be something it is not, I have bought lots of bad stuff and made lots of collecting mistakes, but also made some good scores. So I am just wondering about these and if they could have even been a custom made pair originally?
Like many odd pieces they have both good and bad about them, IMO.
Thanks again to all for your great opinions.

Just for some more info, I just laid them out on a Zeltbahn and it would have required two Zeltbahn to make them. There are no old stitch lines , removed buttons etc anywhere.
