    Dirlewanger shirt

I bought some screen printing equipment about nine months ago. I wanted to make something German WWII that wouldn't offend the average Joe. This is one of the ideas Ive come up with. If anyone has any other ideas or would like a shirt let me know

I have to agree with Ian. Also, even though most of the "average joes" wouldn't even recognize this symbol, all you need is one who does to land someone in hot water or worse.

Yeah, that one wins the prize. I'm not sure what the concept is, except that the runes and the swas are red flags because they are known to be offensive but various insignia aren't? If so, then Im gonna say that Oskar d unit insignia is the most extreme gold medal level in unknown to the common man but most offensive if they knew what it was and meant, second place, etc...just dig into some foreign ss units and divisions especially in the east. Nice designed insignias in the east though. Some KZ probably too, like the small fraktur "k" on the tabs, other sstv, sslah...ok. I feel like I need a bath now. Oskar d, Warsaw, rough stuff.

You guys are right. I guess any of this stuff is kind of dark. Just tried to stay away from any neo nazi stuff. Didn't really think about the history behind it. In hindsight, you guys are absolutely right. Pretty offensive. No matter how much you hide this SS stuff, I guess it would be offensive. Have to think of something else to do I guess other than SS, as any shirt would be offensive. I would hate to offend anyone.

Just do a red T-Shirt with a big Hammer and Sickle on it, then you can sell it on any UK high street, no problemo. Forget the 100 million victims of communism in the 20th Century, they don't matter at all. I never understood the double standards of this.

I doubt anyone would be offended by the Maria Theresia collar tab...

Would go down a treat at your local florist'.

Plenty of "non offensive" non neo associated SS unit insignia - Florian Geyer, Galizien and Nibelungen to name a few. And yeah, Dirlewanger would probably not be my 1st choice if I wasn't looking to offend anyone, though I doubt 1 in 1,000 would have ever heard of Dirlewanger much less know unit insignia.

For something like that I would go more with a hat logo than tshirt, I have some nice Edelweiss emblems on some hats and people think I am into pretty flowers I guess.

I think better do not use a tab for reference. There are a lot of Dirlewanger pics around.
in Italy we have a lot of nice t shirts on WSS.

By the way I respect contrary advise. This is an history forums and every collector has a personal think to collect SS... Better to do not continue.

Are you not offending yourself by wearing such a shirt? If the answer is "no".....than you should think about your ethic values.
Collecting is one thing; to wear such a shirt has nothing to do with this and is an expression..of what?

I think nobody could judge others allied committed war crimes in quantity red army and communism is guilty for about 100millions of death democracy killed millions in him name.
For example you would find horrible also wear Nike or drink nestle or buy diamonds and so on...

I think nobody would have problem to wear a shirt "enola gay" or a wrap of bombardiers or a shirtoof UK or a US flag etc etc etc etc etc.

There are enough T shirts with references to the SS.
                            We don't want anymore .....

interesting point, giulio...i will google it, because i dont know the nestle story? what happened there? also, in the USA- California to be exact, there actually WAS a big flap over the display of the US flag at some college...(not sure if this story made its way across the pond) also our supreme court is hearing now (speaking of flags) arguments relating to the confederate flag in use, i believe, on license plates (?)
