    Opinions on SS Offering

I have been offered these items by a woman today. They were her late husband's and she thinks he had them for about 50 years. SS is not in my area of specialty so all of your comments will be appreciated.

    Thanks for looking.

Hat skull. She said she has another one with the same marking, but almost all of the paint.

Armband. I asked her if there is a tag on the inside and she said no. Of all the pieces this is the one I am really wishy-washy on. The swastika looks too big and the circle looks funky.

I compared pictures of the other pieces to like items I found here on WAF and they looked the same.

I'm not particularly crazy about the armband, but the Tab, Skull, & Buckle look ok.

The right prong on the Skull looks like it might be reapplied. There seems to be residue from something at the upper right of the prong base.

            Nice Tab by the way!!

I like everything but the armband.

In the land of the blind, the one eyed man is king.

Duct tape can't fix stupid, but it can muffle the sound.

I agree. It's just way too sloppy for comfort.

But I've had bunches of those early 30's nickel silver Overhoff buckles and mid-to-late-war zink Deschler tk's. (Get the other one!) I haven't had any tabs just like that one, but the tag is correct and I do like the 2x2 piping, plus the buckram is real, and so is the oxidized bullion, so . . .

                  Shame about that tab ....
Its not in the best of conditions
But nothing wrong with the buckle and skull ....
                  Regards

Thank you for your replies. The price for the lot with a Red Cross Leader Dagger is pretty fair so I'm going to go for it. It is unfortunate about the armband but like you guys said it is a little sketchy.

That does appear to have been a very nice tab. Keep in mind that it is not worth very much due to it's relic condition.

Some people like tabs in this condition. All a matter of preference. I prefer minty ones!n

So what do you think, about $100 or $200 in this condition? I don't collect SS so I'm going to sell all of this.

I would like to see more pictures of the armband if that's possible.
