Insignia cut from a Waffen SS Side Cap

A favorite, insignia cut from a side cap. Posted this on the Heer Cut Insignia thread but thought it should go here as well. I'm primarily a Luft Fj collector but have a small collection of cut insignia from other branches.

As a point of interest, last night I talked to the son of the veteran who souvenired the SS side cap insignia. The insignia and the other cap insignia I posted on Willi's "cut insignia" thread were picked up in the Ardennes after the Bulge. The veteran was in the First Division and during the Battle of the Ardennes he was assigned to support the supplying of the 82 Airborne. My uncle John Fox was in the 82nd and also fought in the Ardennes, it's about the history.

Here is the link to the other pieces: http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...31#post6848931
