I think I sold you the twin to this one, althought the decals were buried under the paint. You still have it?

            Can anyone read

The "FAKER" in West Virginia will take good helmets and add a name. He is very artistic and can do a real good job.
If you got this from a stocky guy, around or close to West Virginia, I would be suspect of the name.

                  Name

It wouldn't seem to make sense to embellish what looks like an original helmet. This helmet looks good to me, but for the education of all, can someone elaborate on the way the name is written? I've never seen a German WWII-era item that was personalized with American-style script that has connecting letters. The small-case letters are always printed singularly. Just raising the question - maybe it's not uncommon, but I never saw this before.

It is a good point, however I have seen this on ww1 liners before and have owned one or two with the similar style that you refer to . It is not the norm but it was early 33 to 34 . Maybe i am incorrect but what is usually seen that your refering to is common on waffen ss gear but in the case of Allgemeine anything is possible .
