    candlestick SS

What is your opinion about this candlestick? Is the original? Best regards and thank you.

It would be very difficult to determine its age and originality I suspect
But I like it very much ....

          candlestick

"Original" ? Original, as to what ? It was, obvisouly, hand made by a craftsman. I would guess that it was period made. What for ? It would be impossible to say.

I like it. I think it is period made, possibly something that might have been used at wewelsburg castle I would imagine.

when seeing this stuff, it is best to be highly suspect.
Assume it is not authentic firstly...then try to find evidence to disprove the initial hypothesis that it is fake-it usually will not happen.

Cultural items became favorites of fakers and wannabe neo Nazis for over 10 years now. This type of stuff is so faked it hurts...perhaps some here did not see the previous WAF issues of made to fool metal (or any other material) of SS cultural items-lot of B.S. spewed out by one or two over and over.

This item itself, I am not even trying to comment on-simply saying I disbelieve all items at first.

The best way to have gotten cultural items is to have gotten them before the exposure /education of fakers to make this specific type.
                  It is too late now

In my opinion it is original. I have seen several of these types and believe them to be genuine based on discussions about construction methods with iron-workers and other collectors.

I have a period photo of one in use in an ss man's home and an original piece of my own.

A very nice piece in my opinion.

                      lets see the photo

it would be helpful to WAF to show the photo that shows this candle holder in SS use.
I wonder if it would really look EXACTLY like this one? Or not? Will there be any ridges on the side like this one???????
                      If it does -great.

it ought to be easy to post a close up of the candle holder if one owns the photo.

It's my opinion. You do not have to believe me if you don't want to.

If I had been fortunate to have caught this auction before it ended, I would have bid as these are very rare pieces. But, I did not see it until after it was already over.

The "ridges" are a characteristic of some of these candleholders. If you study the existing examples, you will see a variety of different ridge patterns. And I have photos of pieces with more than just one interior rune inside these circular leuchter too.

so you don't own any photo with this exact candleholder after all. It is simply an opinion without any evidence shown.

as usual your conclusions are plain wrong and illogical.

However, you are correct in that you personally will never see it, but that is because I will not post it.

I have decided to take your advice given in another thread since some people like you will never accept things regardless of what is presented:

                            http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...&postcount=124

"Id prefer that detailed photos are not posted so fakers don't have an education."

"Don, posting close details of what some consider an original casket will not sway those who do not believe at all. They will only accept era photo evidence...maybe not even that. "

In the future, you might perhaps, refrain from backing up an opinion with the citation of discussions with un-named individuals and well as alleged photos that you are then unable to post.
Instead, simply say it is an opinion.
