Vet made ss chain jewelry

Picked this up today . I never thought i would find one but here it sits .

Purchased from the son of a NY vet . might anyone happen to know what the brass links belong to , i seem to remember seeing these before .

I believe it's just a shortened (ie. links removed) from a chain off an SS Standard Bearer Gorget.

The brass links seem to be from a gorget chain, but I can't put my finger on which one. Similar to the NSKOV, but no swazis. Maybe an Imperial one. Neat piece anyway!
