Well they are not a pair to start with, however I will say the one on the left looks drilled.

Waffen-SS Paar Schulterstücke für einen SS-Obersturmführer Infanterie der Leibstandarte SS "Adolf Hitler" um 1938. Matte Schulterstücke für die Feldbluse mit weißer Paspelierung, mit aufgelegtem Namenszug "LAH" 2. Modell in Cupal vergoldet, die Rangsterne vergoldet. Mit Schlaufen. Deutlich getragen in gutem Zustand.
Die Schulterstücke stammt aus dem Nachlass von Richard Schulze-Kossens (1914 - 1988). Richard Schulze (nach Kriegsende änderte er seinen Namen in Schulze-Kossens) trat 1934 der SS bei, ab 1937 war er Angehöriger des Stabes von Theodor Eicke und Adjutant der 3. SS-Totenkopfstandarte "Thüringen". Am 23. August 1939 wurde Schulze in seiner Eigenschaft als Adjutant von Ribbentrop Zeuge der Unterzeichnung des "Hitler-Stalin Paktes". Ab Oktober 1941 Ordonnanzoffizier und ab 1943 persönlicher Adjutant Hitlers. Am 20. Juli 1944 gehörte er zu den 14 im Führerbunker anwesenden Personen. Nach mehreren Frontverwendungen (u.a. bei der 12. SS-Panzer-Division "Hitlerjugend" während der Ardennenoffensive), wurde er im März 1945 Kommandeur der 38. SS-Grenadier-Division "Nibelungen" ernannt. Schulze-Kossens war einer der Mitbegründer der "HIAG" (Hilfsgemeinschaft auf Gegenseitigkeit der Soldaten der ehemaligen Waffen-SS)

All 2nd Pattern LAH cyphers that show signs of drill holes are fake.

The skull you posted is NOT a cypher.

You even posted on this thread about LAH cyphers, I hope you read the replies.

I just showed an original/war-time piece (skull) with a very similar round hole, which means a round hole (alone) cannot be taken as an issue in determining originality of any item because it is observed in period items. I am not saying this particular cypher is original, but trying to figure out why else it is "fake"(for what other reason(s) besides the round holes)?

Here is again a picture from a book that says it was ground-dug. It is a different cypher, not the same type as the weitze cypher ( that is shown in this thread) but it also has round holes and that's why no one here liked it before but I do still believe it has good chances to be original
