Anton Mussert instituted this award in his own name in the spring of 1942.  It was to recognise the bravery of Dutch volunteers serving with the Germans on the Russian front. Permission to award the cross was not sort of Hitler and thus the award could not be worn on German uniform, but of course it could be worn in Holland on any NSB or related uniform.

Yes of course we dont have any photographic proof of the shield been worn .. there are a bunch of early shields out there that would maybe look better together with the cross but I like it just how it is...

Oh let me tell you how I obtained the Wallonie shield.

                Pm :Ed the man ...
                Made an offer..
                Wired the money ..
                Got the shield..
If you feel that made anything wrong you are welcome to send your feelings and thoughts to me, and we can discuss it.

I don't think this is a thread about how I obtain my stuff ?

                Thanks

No, you are almost right... The deal was done & promised & round. I asked him that same day 5 times his payment information, as I was going to pay instantly... No reply...
A week later, still asking for his payment information and news, I learned the shield was "traded for Kosak items..." The price of 3500 euro is what you communicated to other forum members.

And just of the record, I've contacted the moderator and requested to clean up the topic

I contacted the guy the same way you did asking if it was for sale.
I got the information that there is a potential buyer (You) that offered 2500 to buy it . But that he doesn't have the money for the moment. Yes I offered him more with instant payment .. don't know where you got 3500 from..
And guess what! he contacted me after my offer..

And don't accuse me of asking seller not to contact you , because that's a lie ..

Hopefully you got your anger out now so you can sleep better ..

A nice day to you as well..

                                Interesting trend.
I love seeing those period photos of them being worn.
It puts a face to the insignia and makes them come to life.
