The skull on this cap is a common bevo tropical, and is not the hard-to-find type that are normally found on factory tropical caps, which this purports to be.

The eagles on these typical have the long back head feather, not this type which I have not seen in tropical weave before.

    Just my two euro.

Both insignia are textbook originals. A very nice and rare tropical eagle

I'm sure the cap is fine too but that's not my area.

Ian, I am not saying the skull is not original. I am saying this is not the skull normally found on factory examples of these caps.

The tropical skull on these caps is different than the ones cut off the rolls of unissued Dachau stocks and sold cheap (for skulls). I believe you know what I'm talking about.

good eagle tropical, tropical skull good ....
RobertE, thank you for your comments, but I do not think all worth 2euros !!!!
I understand that for you it is not the eagle nor the skull that can see are usually on a cap, because the eagle has long wing, but I think he still moin place on a cap. ...
While the skull, is a small model that have habituellemnt find better on a cap, I grant you
So RobertE, thank you for your help

            trop

Hi, Teddy, The cap for me is spurious, the eagle is an original grey cotton bird that has been dyed, the skull as said is original however never seen on factory produced caps.
            Take care, Martin

I do not trust in thus cap. Eagle seem coloured as said machine sewing is not as I would expect also for thread used. Bet.ra. stamps sounds like Ss bw not only never seen but also very strange fonts.

For these caps, I focus on the insignia and it's application. It's my approach, and I understand if others choose other methods. But these caps are very basic, and what sets them apart are (1) unique skulls and (2) unique eagles. They are of a type, and when paired (both being the unique examples) my confidence in the cap increases.

Conversely, if the insignia is the common tan tropical Dachau skull and the eagle is not of the pattern typically seen, I trust the cap less. Like I mentioned, these simple caps are easy to produce - here's one on Ebay that could be dressed up with dyed insignia and a Dachau skull and shoved out to the market. http://www.ebay.com/itm/191527559251...84.m1436.l2649

I am not saying the cap up for discussion is replica- it could be original though the markings do seem odd. As stated, the Dachau skull and unusual pattern of tropical eagle would bear closer examination.
