    Landstorm Collar Tab

Is this an Original collor tab from Landstorm Nederland?

The tab looks original enough ....,
But my gut feeling is the metal insignia was an add-on to increase its value

Tab looks too small and looks like a LW tab with added thread and added original device.

Thanks both. I don't believe size is wrong. Any more opinions?

Originals have been posted in the past. I recoomend that you do a search and you will find examples to compare with.

          Cheers

The metal devise is 100% OK. The tab does look more rectangular (LW or RAD shape ) in the picture...SS is more square...

Mine (mounted on a Dutch made tunic) is 39 X 54 mm, that's pretty close actually!

I think both the tab and certainly the metal grenade are fine originals .
                      But since the 2 parts are not particularly rare ;

                      1. without solid provenance , you may simply have to accept that they could have joined after 1945 - there is no way to tell .
                      2. you would in either case have a tab for the LANDWACHT , not Landstorm . So far all period pictures I have seen of the Landstorm Nederland show blank tabs in wear ( or runes for veterans ) .
                      3. I have not seen a Landwacht tab before like this with the grenade situated in the corner ( always centered like Nicks example horizontally , rarely also vertically ) .
But since they were clothed in odds and ends , this corner position could still be a possibility .
Again , without provenance impossible to tell , but both parts are OK in my opinion . Hope this helps a little ..

Two blank tabs and some different types of period grenade insignia .
It would have been easy enough to make one up , but instead I waited for more than 20 years ( ) until I FINALLY found the bottom one with 100% undoubted provenance .
It came from the son of a man who worked for the Justice Department in 1945 , together with lots of other incriminating insignia ..

Winkelman, now that is good info, many thanks! I also think nice original, and yes you are right it's hard to say of it is put together in or after the war.

                            Landwacht it could be yes!

Here's a link to my previous post on this particular insignia : http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...and+collar+tab
Note mine has no closing thread on the reverse, and the prongs are of a different type (but the same as the one Dave Davies also kindly posted at the time )

                              Cheers
