SS 8 Year Service Medal & miniature

Hi There,

I picked this up recently, an SS 8 year service medal and miniature, court mounted and in pretty much mint condition.

I have seen a few of these around before but never with the miniature as well, any thoughts form the experts here - anyone else have one like this?

From what I can see, both look fine. It's unusual to get the SS medal court-mounted though - it may have simply been hooked on to a mount for another long service award. Nevertheless, both nice medals.

I'll have a closer look at the suspension and try and get some blow-ups of the pictures so people can see the 'tiddler' better.

Afternoon Gents,

A full year after posting the first set of pics of this medal and miniature in my collection, I have got round to doing some in focus shots (I blame fatherhood ).

The medal seemed to get the thumbs up way back then, do these new snaps shed further light on my medal?
