SS Field Made Camo Helmet Cover

I normally wouldn't buy a piece like this but it surfaced from a vets estate and to me it was just a "one looker". One seam looks like it was pulled apart and re-sewn. I am no camo expert but think its SS. Material looks old, all the stitching looks old and it shows signs of being on a helmet after it was made. I have it on a very small shell right now. I don't know, what do you guys think? [try to be nice]

I don't understand why the center panel looks so light on the fall side. It nice and bright on the other side so its not worn,??is it?
