flatwire SS eagle?

Hello all,

I have heard several things about what exactly this is.

1.) Sport shirt eagle

2.) SS high-command Pennant eagle

3.) Reich Motor Sport armband eagle

Can anyone please tell me exactly what I have here?

Here's another one I found on JR's site. I thought the fakes all have a rounded head. Are you suggesting the one that started the thread is different from these?

to me, the overall pattern of the eagle looks more like the ones that are deemed authentic in this thread. My question is, would a "C" tag be correct for this style of insignia?

Yes, C tag is correct. I had one before but sold it to a collector in Denmark. Its been posted here in is close in sequence number to ones posted here. Apart from the more round head the space between the feathers of the legs and the talons is a visible gap on the fake, but on the original the feathers almost/just touch the talons.

As with all flatwire insignia they are machine woven onto a strip of backing material fed through a jacquard (sp ?) loom which uses a punch card template to manufacture endless, identical repetitions of the same piece.
