Hi Dennis,at least you took it well,kind of makes you wonder what the interest would be on that $90 though doesn't it ! At least you've got a couple of nice items there.

Personally I plan to re-unite many of my bad purchases with their original owner sometime next year .... very publically,at one of the UK military shows...perhaps you'd like to do the same !

Ian, sounds like a good idea, I've been collecting for 30 years and some dealers I may have bought from may already be dead . That may be fortunate or unfortunate depending on the perspective your looking from .. I had a decent lot of SS insignia from vet purchases a while back which I sold off over the years . The items I posted are mostly dribs and drabs of some spur of the moment buys. I'll post some more later and your help is appreciated. Regards Dennis

Gentlemen, I am curious whether you are of the opinion that the late-war officer bevo never existed (as some argue) or whether you simply think these are not genuine examples of a real variant.

#1 is fine.I fear for #2 the green eagle...it's a part of the fake 'monocled' skull trapezoid.#3 looks OK but the white buckram is unusual.Sadly #s 4,5 & 6 are reproductions (as is the RZM label on #6).

I've never seen in person,on the several forums or on any dealers site a pair of officers BeVo tabs other than the type Dennis has shown here,which are simply a metallic version of the commonest fake BeVo runic. (Look at the thickness of the crossbar of the rune on the fakes and on the white backed original) if it's any consolation I bought a pair of the EM ones back in the late 70's,the blank rank one has a fake RZM label on to add 'authenticity'.Mr Anthony Goodlad will be receiving these back too.

Officer versions of bevo or woven runics definitely existed, Gary posted several on the first page of this thread:

Real officer tabs do not have an "outline" around the edge of the runes, like the em versions. Both officer/em fakes have it, but it is not like the originals.

I meant that there weren't (to my knowledge) BeVo tabs of the normal EM style in flatwire,I didn't mean the NCO/officer non-outlined ones Gary and other contributers kindly showed us on that thread.
