SS higher leaders uniforms at dealers

    Hello,
I have been looking at different web-sites and found that Alan Beadle has a SS Polizei Brigadeführer tunic, a SS-HAUPTAMT Brigadeführer tunic and a Gruppenführer tunic.
Likewise Andre Huesken has an Obergruppenführer tunic.

I have asked these 2 dealers for better pictures of them, but so far I have not received anything.

Have any of you seen these, and dare I ask what is your opinion about them?
If you do not want to post, please PM.

Trigger,I wish you well with Mr Beadle,he urgently requires a decent photographer and website to show off his 'treasures' to their full glory. Many of his extremely rare and hyper-cheap tunics appear to have been in stock for quite some time, the Estonian,Nederland and Dirlewanger tunics have been there at least a year to my knowledge.

You may be waiting a while for detailed pictures I fear.

I may add that Andre Husken has a great many items which I would not wish to have in my collection.

Again the detailed photos will no doubt proove interesting,if you get them.

    Cheers,Ian.

      Ian, Thank You.

I have observed just the same thing re. rare items being in stock over a long period of time.

Now I might add that when I am looking for a higher ranking SS Officer tunic, I am not too worried about it being put together, as long as each individual item/insignia etc is correct & original.
Finding a completely original untouched and with provenance Brigadeführer and above would probably blow my budget away .

Trigger,if you're willing to accept put-togethers then the worlds your oyster.Acquiring an original attributed SS-Brif or upwards tunic will be like searching for rocking horse droppings and will definately blow the lid off 99% of people's budget.

As for Huesken and AB you can see nothing from those pics....if you were skeptical you could say that most of their tunics seem very similar.Relatively common 'Dachau' volunteer tabs, relatively common 'Dachau' shield,RZM eagle etc etc none shown in sufficient detail to tell squat.

        Good luck,Ian.

Following Ian's comments, even the tunics that you may think are put together are most likely all of recent manufacture. In my opinion, investing in such an item would constitute a total loss. You would be better off waiting for an untouched uniform sourced from a reliable dealer.

Yes I will be waiting for something genuine to show up(and have been for a couple of years..).
I know this is something seldom seen at the open market, so if anyone have any tips or info I'd be grateful!
Just wondering, has anyone physically seen/held any of the aforementioned tunics?? I'd really like to write them off once and for all from my prospect-list..

              Tor-

Look at it this way. Pieces of this rarity need not be advertised on a dealer's web site. Any legitimate dealer would have a long list of cash customers for such uniforms. When these type of items become available, they never see the open market.

                HI

I was going to buy a General tunic from Mr. Beadle. I asked him for better pictures before I closed the deal and he replied " Either you want the tunic or you don't". I did not buy it. He may have great and original stuff but for a tunic that was $4000.00, better pictures are a must.
I end up buying a General tunic from Weize. He losted a good custumer

$4000!!!!! guys, you can not buy an army general officer's tunic in excellent condition for that price. A real SS General officer's tunic(REAL, GENUINE, NOT MADE UP LAST YEAR)would definitely command in excess of $30,000 The price alone should be enough of a red flag. In today's collector world, there are no bargains on genuine, untouched articles.

That price, >30K$ is one of the reasons why I'd settle for something which is put together, with genuine insignia on a genuine tunic.
Even such a tunic "should" cost 5-8000Euro IMHO

Bob is correct these items are dangerous and I will tell you now,any SS tunic you buy from Europe you better well know how to closely examine them. That is all I will say without pointing out what I have had first hand opportunity to experience. As I said before stick with known originals from old collections or veteran purchased tunic like John Donovan got his hands on,lucky but very patient collector that he is.I will say this much I tried since 1985 to buy a nice original trustworthy SS Officers tunic that I had no doubts about no glowing, parts no restitched insignias,no eagle ghosts,no perfectly mint ones that looked never worn,no incidental rank promotions that left scars(although that happened often) I just this year purchased one from a fine collection and collector who had some of his items published in Beavers book and I have known for years. He knew of my desire and sold me one when he made his mind up to do so.Thats almost a 20 year quest.Although I did have spots of time I blocked it out of my mind and did other things then some good war movie would come out and the hunt was back on.
