    Deutschland Cuff Title Variant

Is this a recognized variant by collectors? Where does it fit in the desirablity scale?

Weitze has this priced at 1750 euros.

      Hello Curt .

J would say a gothic flatwire is always disireable. A nice item although the pic could be better.

      Regards jens

Well, it is Gothic except for the "s". That's what's strange about it. Compare it to this "normal" one:

(Weitze has this priced at 1850 euros).

          Curt,
There are original titles out there that have the "S" capitalised normally when 2 words are butted together, some say the combination as in the title above is OK as well, but it would not be for me.
          cheers,
          Gary

So you prefer the lowercase "s" as in my first post? It seems like the uppercase "S" is more commonly seen.

But, is that really an uppercase "S"? I thought it was just another way of drawing a lowercase "s". Would "DeutSchland" make sense in German?

              Curt,
I guess i did not word that right, i would prefer the second pattern with the s like an f, not a s like an s, even this does not sound right
              cheers,
              Gary

Thanks Gary -- you are always helpful.

Anyone else care to weigh in with an opinion? I have been offered a good deal on a title like the one in post #1. I just want to make sure that I am not stuck with it for the rest of my life!

Does anyone have a period photo of the first type in wear?

Robin? You are the photo man.

I will chime in here , I have seen a few with the roman(?) s, they are less common then the german s,but , the one in this thread has pretty sloppy embrodery.

I would not buy it, if I could sell it and it was mine I would be shopping on the estand with the money I have made,
                          My 2 cents worth,
                          Dave
