Very nice, but I don't like the veil at all. Not textbook construction by any means.

Happy New Year, are you positive he was good to you on that veil? I know not much is shown, but from the pic, I would have concerns. Posting some very high resolution shots of the vertical strands on the veil and the lower portion would be helpful, just a thought, they look wrong AT LEAST from the pics posted. Could be right as rain, and its the pics which are deceiving, just not sure. Several collectors are producing really quality pieces which we know about, and they are open about their attempts, its the ones working behind the curtains I worry about.

Veil is 100% a reproduction. Sorry

                              Hello there,

This vail is identical with the one which appeared on number 35/36 of a French millitaria magazine published in 1988 .

Initially, I also thought it was reproduction. However, as what the original photos says, it is the after re-introduction in April, 1942.

As you know, these veils were developed from the prewar days, several samples were made, and it was rejected by Hausser in 1939 .

You may examine my veil below.

Part of their strings are woven in one piece ,the strings were dyed spring side and autumn side, It was more time-consuming than sewing the three parts.

The seam is not visible on the spring cover . And it replicates with the parts of the gas mask.

And it was dyed from raw materials and has not been diverted to other parts.

The tip of the string has been tied, and is encased in wax-like material. This is also present in the string of pre-war Army poncho

Entire circumference and is housed in a pouch that had been sealed sewn.
And it has been added stamped "sniper mask" in Polish later

It was exhibited Mohawk Arms auction in 1988. and It has been confirmed several types on eBay auction 15 or 16 years ago .

Poland is one of the most acknowledge logistics of Germany in World War 2 , there may be stocked unused veil .

Certainly I think it is difficult to determine the authenticity of this veil. however, I feel premature to categorically determine the reproductions.

                              Your attention will be appreciated.
