    Major Hochstetter's Uniform

Not really but close. This is an obvious fake that wandered into War Relics Shop in Delaware. Possibly 60's-70's theatrical? Looking at the makers tag which I think is origional to the jacket, anyone have an idea what the uniform may have started out as? It isn't re-dyed and the trousers match, have single button closures on front and rear pockets and no markings. All opinions welcome. Ron.

I think he died around '95-96.

Most of these are early BGS or west German. This tunic was in a newspaper article that may have been posted here before.

Were there any early BGS uniforms in black?

They dyed them, the dyes do not effect the tailor labels. I think it has been dyed. That is what was done to most of them. This is pretty typical of something made in the 1970s. Collectors Armory and a mail order place called "Kruppers" sold sets like this.

For the sake of comparison....with a Hollywood created overcoat.

IMO not a BGS dyed jacket as the collar form i different, the lapels are not that big on a BGS jacket .
Simply a new made jacket in the 70's or 80's .

It's definitely not dyed. The matching trousers pocket liners are brownish-grey. Does anyone know if this tailor actually existed?

Has better provenance than Gottlieb's Hitler uniform.
