All of the repros I have seen of the Italian and other parkas are really easy to spot. I doubt there is someone making high-end reproductions of these, they just are not worth that much and originals are easy to find. Does not mean no one's making them now. Look at the rear of the rabbit for, it should be done in a nice piecemeal fashion, often times you'll see 30 or 40 or more small pieces zigzag stitch together. Feel the back of the fur, it should feel kind of dried out almost like paper. If it's new and fresh, then it's reproduction. They still do make these type of parka linings in Russia, they are easy to spot as the linings for the rabbit fur are basically new and don't look or feel like 70 year animal hide would. As far as the drawstring, very early ones use the same drawstring as SS smocks and will have a small usually glass green button sewn over it to prevent the drawstring from going inside the hood tunnel. later ones used a greenish cording that to me almost looks like parachute cord, sometimes with just a knot and sometimes also with a button sewn to the end of the cord. I'm not sure I have seen parkas with this simple white drawstring but it is possible, used the same white drawstrings as in regular SS Army Air Force reversible winter jackets. Just depends what was available.
