Got this rare little treasure in today!

    I All,

Just thought I would share this rare treasure I bought from the family of the vet who brought it home from the war. Cant wait to set it up on one of my mannequins!

    Enjoy!

Are SS Jump Smocks still a matter of controversy?

Can't say much except: aren't threre only a handful of these WSS Paratroop Jump Smocks known to be original in existence in the world? Also, even those are considered "prototypes" that could never be confirmed to have been issued out or even operationally used? Sorry to sound skeptical, but if this is one of those taken from Dachau at the end of the war ... Well then, you have something there! For your sake, it would be like winning the 100 million lottery!

        Congrats

These are amazing and it is indeed 100% accurate, no top zippered chest pockets etc...
Here's another for comparison at the La Gleize museum but no chest eagle.
The embroidered eagle is also late war rare pattern, styled after a BeVo one and properly stitched on the chest LW style!
The story is that these were found by US troops in a rail car at the Dachau depot, none every reaching the troops.

Collector lore has it that a load of these were found in a bombed out rail carriage on a siding.

I believe that these garments had zippered chest pockets; as does this is Original

So there are Zippers under the trim areas ? No dangling zipper pulls....
Most lacked zippers, never installed, like the La Gleize example!
                            I really an awesome find!
This is the La Gleize example!
This is the very SS Dot pattern jump smock that was on display at the La Gleize Museum. It is one of the few known originals. Originals are all textbook and made exactly like Luftwaffe ones. They have all been traced to supplies found at Dachau, at the end of the war. This one never had the zips placed to close the pockets. All buttons are there as well as PRYM 6 snaps.

Sir All the unaltered factory examples I have had the pleasure to examine had zips; my belief is that the example you are referring to had those removed at some point in time.

The first picture in post #1 shows the leather "pull" slightly.
