Good original insignia. The cap has some features that are not typical, and some materials (liner) set off some of the collectors here, but at first blush it could be good as well.

The Italian wool and wooden buttons are a nice match, and the silvery HBT looks Italian as well so possibly a foreign made cap. Lack of buttonholes is not unheard of but moves it out of textbook.

What does the bias tape look like? Any markings?

I've looked close to see if perhaps faded but I see no sign of any markings.
