    Norway SS Dagen 1943

I just received this very rare poster.

It measures 66.5cm by just under 49cm.

The borders are not straight, but wavy.

The paper is a soft Kraft type paper that is more brown than white.

Do I have reasons to be concerned?

Here you can see teh difference in paper colour... the poster is a light brown mushy type paper, beside it is a white copy paper.

                Max:

This means that the edges have been trimmed?

Does that detract a lot from value?

Yours would be the 50 x 70 size, even though it may be trimmed or the paper used was a little under that.

It wouldn't detract from the value at all as none of the print has been cut off.

Looks like a fine original to me. The book by Jensen & Dahl is not always correct. Seems they just lumped most of them in 70x50 category. I would be more concerned if it were bigger than mentioned.

Thank you all for your comments.

I bought this from a very reputable collector in Norway and just had a few niggling questions about it.

It is being framed now (non glare glass, acid free backing paper and a big NO to it being dry mounted) and will show you pictures once I get it back.

I would advise against glass, the UV resistant Perspex is the way to go.

The Perspex is more $$ but in the even that your frame drops and the glass shatters then you will be glad you spent the extra $...
