Does it look like Italian smooth wool ? I have my doubts... Italian HBT for sure... (Recycled) which makes sense with the Italian markings...

Good skull, good lining material (ripped from an Italian uniform I assume) and fake cap built around that?

OK so already shown in headgear section...my assumptions are correct!
Could be a rebuilt one with original recycled materials (inside)

The insignia are original but would look more at home on a fez .... I KNOW they are generic insignia but that particular skull and that eagle (to me) shout fez.
