    SS Mein Kampf box...Real or....

Saw this box on eBay and thought about bidding on it. Got a little too rich for my blood considering what it is. Any thoughts?

    Hello Bodes

I think is really difficult to judge the originality of this object from the photos...... I have sincerely seen this type of box only on the "SS REGALIA" book "

I've heard there were some very good copies of these made but have never seen one...There was an original with MK inside sold at the MAX 2 years ago for around $4000! If the eBay one is real I'd say the buy had a very good day!!! , G.

            Gentlemen.

I've only just seen this post.

That is a 1000% original box in great condition.

I've only ever seen another 2 in 35 years collecting.

It's MUCH rarer than the totenkopfring.

The buyer, whoever he is, had a fantastic day.

Thanks Robin, even though it's killing me that I was too cheap/unsure to bid on it....Every dog has his day... Bodes

                        Sal.
It's down to the multi-piece construction, and the quality of the carving. The repros come nowhere near.

                            Hi,

One turned up locally about 8 years ago it actully belonged to a friend of mine but i did not know he had it, it was sold for a pittence i belive it is somewere in England ,it is unique as it has a saw cut in the top that was done by my friend as a child .
                            Does anybody know it's wereabouts.
                            All the best Merdock

...from what I can tell from the pictures it looks in every detail to an original ultra rare Mein Kampf box.
