A friend of mine is collecting all kinds off camouflage variants. This one is a interesting one.

Last buy from the Ciney fair is this Zelt with a type of print on the front we all know but a less familiar back side.

Repeating pattern every 52 / 54 cm. Sized like a regular WW2 German zelt triangle.

Can someone tell me from which country this originates??

What an interesting zelt! Does anyone have any more information as to how Egypt came by Waffen SS zelts? Did they buy whole stock after the war and had one side painted in their own camo?

Patrick may know more on that but I think they were made in germany (west germany) after the war and exportet to egypt. West germany used a number of camo prints or designs that originated from ww2 (splinter, marsh) for its own forces (Bundeswehr and BGS). Apparently the ss print was used for exports only, perhaps too controversial for a german post war army.
