    SS Panzer Sterbebild

    Hello
    Not often seen original SS Panzer death card with pink collar piping, EK2 and silver PAB.
    Any thoughts about unit ID?

    That is a nice card!

    He was probably with SS Panzer Abteilung Herman von Salza of the 11th Panzer Grenadier Division Nordland. I believe they were fighting in Latvia during August of 1944. The pink piping around the collar tabs was a hallmark of this panzer unit.

      Quite possibly SS Panzer Brigade Gross who were fighting in Lettland at this time , Hermann von Salza were still in Estonia in August 1944 !

        Yes, you are correct, SS Panzer Brigade Gross was in Latvia on the date this trooper met his end.

          I also think it is SS Panzer Brigade Gross, I found this on Der Volksbund Deutsche Kriegsgräberfürsorge. I think this can bee the soldier on the card.
          He is registered as an Leutnant the datum and place is the same when he was killed. Any other info on the other side of the card about birthplace and birthday ?
