    Rings

If you want a REAL laugh, check out the "Ebeling" ring under "1939 Transitional Rings". This is possibly a heavily-worn, authentic ring, that someone ruined by re-tooling. Billed as "a lucky break for history" that the burnishing still exists, this ring is truly a sight to behold.
But the Waigl ring takes the cake. That skull is uglier than my ex-mother-in-law.

      ebiling ring

      hi members
good morning many years ago probly 20 yrs i owned the ebiling ring when i bought it gee i think gaspare was with me at the time we did a show in new jersey and a dealer said to follow him home to look at it i did i bought it at this time the ring had its original barnish and shown just wear to the bottom of runics like the ss soldier used to spin it with his finger which created the wear to the bottom runic . then i sold it seen it a few years later on another site and some one had worn it to death and re barnished it what a crime to see. also i owned one of the few rare dutch ss honor rings around i believe there were only 500 reciptints that name was van etten the ring condition when i owned it was about a strong 85 percent original condition when i shown the ring around i found a relitive his fathers brother owned this ring they asked me if it was for sale and i wanted so bad to renite this ring to thier family the father looked at it at a show and started to tear up but declined to buy it i still cant figure that out maybe the price i dont know or the hurt of loosing his brother . i eventuly sold it and the buyer wore it down what a crime to see this on another site beat up worn etc but i can not control what the buyer will do to thier rare dutch ss honor ring we probly will never see another one hope you guys enjoy my story its the way it happned god bless andy militarynut

Go out and find a SS Gahr brooch - that´s a real challenge.

            '.'

            Interesting thread guys!!!

@ Alfred312, ever thought of using '.' and ',' and capitals in your sentences? So difficult to read.

It's like: '@alfred312 ever thought of using . and , and capitals in your sentences so difficult to read its really tiresome to read such sentences people go to school to learn to write with punctuations and capitals and without spelling errors etc do you know what i mean now

Im not sure what this post has to do with SS Uniforms and Insignia...I know my syntax and grammar are sometimes compromised when typing quickly online.....was that negative comment directed toward a member really necessary?
              Sincerely,
              Mike

If the wilhelm van etten ring was worn down, how can it turn up on oakleaf militaria looking brand new?

Well Mike, obviously it hasn't to do anything with this thread.
But from time to time I read some topics completely true and his posts are just difficult to read as english isn't my native language... So, if someone writes like this, it's even more difficult to me...
It wasn't my intention to be negative. Just to let him know. Is that so bad?
Maybe I'd better wrote him a PM. That's true. To late for that.

But why do you accually care in the first place?

I don't. And I think you answered your own question as it pertains to appropriateness.

                              Van Etten Ring

There's only one photo on Oakleaf website. Does anyone have any more pics of that ring, especially before and after?

Its hard to see because the words "reduced price" are superimposed over it, but there's a small red hypertext link next to the price (11,000) that says "more photos." try clicking there, i saw many more photos.
