Looks like cast junk to me .... what do YOU think ?

I know that skulls are marked this way but are authentic eagles as well?

Why were skulls/eagles not issued typically from the same manufacturer? Most times when people check original caps the eagle and skulls are from different makers.

There were original M1/52 marked SS eagles, but this is not one of them.
I don't think that they cared if the insignia markings matched, back in the days that these were worn.

Exactly .....
It was just a job .... They weren't collectors
