Yes, please post photos of he hat. So many hats were stripped of insignia, after the war. It is not unusual to find a good hat with reproduction insignia.

As Mr Hritz says the Assmann style skull and Wagner style eagle are Austrian-made fakes 'from the days of disco' ... they fooled a lot of people back in the day.

I'll leave it to a cap expert to comment on that.
