Pink Smock with Striped Green Design for Review

    Hi

I have been reading with interest some of the postings regarding the 'Pink' smock. One argument that has cropped up is the uniformity of the colours in these smocks.
Whilst not wishing to start a debate on the rights and wrongs of the originality of these smocks ( I bought one in the early 1990s from a British dealer), I am including these photos of one that I have seen. It has the mid green markings in a reeded or striped design, on most of the smock. The green on the pocket cover does not have these stripes, however.
I am assuming the the lines gave been caused by not enough dye been released on the roller.
Has anyone come across this on any pink smocks?
Does it make it a variant?

    Kind regards
    John

      Hi David

Don't be so optimistic. There can only be a heated debate if the others join in.
By the way, any ideas why the stripes?
      Kind regards

John, I'd imagine it would have to be an ink flow issue. I would definitely say it is a variation of this oft-debated smock type.

        Any markings on the pockets?

          Hi Robert

No, I have had a good look and there are no marks of any sort. The one I had back then did have numerous ink stamps on the HBT lining of the pockets, including a triangle. They had been inked over and were not legible. I sold it over 12 years ago, so cannot post pictures of it. This example is completely clear. I can post pictures of the rest of the smock if required.

          Kind regards
          John

You see it on most pinks
It's just a common printing flaw.

I've got one I my collection and have owned and examined more, but haven't seen this pronounced striping. It's quite a contrast.

Sorry I 've not come back earlier. Have been on holiday where internet connection was at best, rubbish.
I must admit, I did some research online and couldn't find any other evidence of striping on pink or any other types of smock materials.

                Regards

Not a variation, just a barely noticeable printing flaw and has no significance other than that in my opinion.
