      Photo

Relax and take a deep breath........an-n-nd...exhale.......................no one ever suggested you touched up the photo. I'm sure everyone assumed it was that way when you got it. Personally, I don't think it was touched up at all. People are just trying to explain a photo that doesn't seem logical. I believe the photo is real as is, but those are not SS men or even Nazis, IMO, and earlier in the thread, I explained why.

To "NAXOS" - It was a statement of observation. The woman looks like she's Jewish, just like other Jewish girls I've known, including one I used to date. This would tend to suggest she's not cavorting with SS men, as the photo suggests. And the men look more like French civilians than Germans. Does Sophia Loren look Italian? Does Hermann Goering look like he's a German, or an Italian? Or does he look like he's from China?
People from different countries generally have different appearances, and if you want to pretend that isn't so, then be my guest. If you think it's a slur to say that she looks Jewish, then you're an anti-Semite, and there's no place on the forum for such hatred.
To "BLACKWATCH" - If you don't want your item discussed, then don't put it on the forum. But I'll help you anyway - Post 19, they look like Yugoslavians. Am I right?

              What?

I said it is a BS assumption on your part to determine ones ethnicity and even more a persons political persuasion by looking at their faces in a photograph.
If there was any slur intended, it was at your amateurish profiling.

I'd also like to know how someone can look like French resistance.

This is off-topic, but it's interesting that the 'Charlemagne' man is wearing a DAF buckle. I wonder if he was issued that, or if he just used what he could find.

Can't it be just a photo taken by some civilians at the party simply for fun and SS patch is only worn for fun as well by one of them?

Hi Jack. Good question. If you take a look at the back you will see "Agfa" without a line over top which indicates it is either WW2 or previous. BUT I have seen period photos with the same marking dated late 40's and 1950. In the back of them it looks like a portrait of Hitler from what I can see. Honestly I can't contemplate people partying with Der Fuhrer and wearing SS jackets if they aren't SS. I am trying to picture where this was taken. The women's ethnicity would be impossible to identify as Germany was a melting pot of various people. I'd have to say that after viewing thousands of Third Reich photos, most Germans were not of the Nordic type but a mix. Sheds an interesting light on the "Master Race" anti-German propaganda North American's were fed during WW2.

Interesting photo, difficult to impossible to declare either way.

If legit, 2 things would seem all but certain:

1 - Was taken close to Xmas/New year
2 - Location likely France, where there was no shortage of cavorting call girls eager to cater to German desires.
Thus the year would be late 1940 or early 1941.

Interesting that the man with the patch is in semi formal wear but yet appears to have combat boots on.
Also appears that the label on the wine bottle center front was intentionally blurred, you can clearly see fuzz on the bottom of her shoe but can't make out any words on the label. The pig has some writing on it, looks to be SON and probably more ,, Useless observations, I know.

Thanks for your comments! I think the label on the bottle was made white from the camera flash. Combat boots? Looks to me like a shoe.
Here is the label. I darkened it. Looks like gibberish to me lol. The second photo is the "combat boot" which I think is a shoe/sneaker

It's probably a New Year's party - like already mentioned around Christmas because the spruce branch decorations (Tannenzeige) - The pig appears to be a (Neujahr Glücksschwein)
