    S.S. Pith Helmet shields.

Just bought these from the Vet's grandson today and need some help with value.

The Set is marked JFS 43, single is marked JFS 42. Zinc construction.

The grandson admitted to "touching-up" the paint when he was a kid.

    Any help is appreciated.

    Cheers,
    Howard

FP 1942 shields from vet's widow

I know the controversy with the FP 1942 marked ss pith helmet shields and I tended to think JFS were the only correct ones. However Sunday I picked up a vet grouping from the 89 year old widow of a 39th Combat Engineering
Sgt. In the grouping were 2 sets of FP 1942 marked SS helmet shields. Along with the shields were a Heer Artillery Visor, Heer Artillery tunic, NSDAP banner 3x7, fender pennant, and 3 helmets, heer, lw, and ls, all untouched originals. This vet fought in Italy- Sicily, Po Valley, Rome, Anzio.

I found the shields in the pocket of the heer tunic, one appears to have gummy residue from inventory or price tag. I believe this is the first pair
directly from Vet source and I hope it serves to prove their existence.

              F.p.

I don't believe in the F.P. Maker. I don't like construction at all.

Direct Vet score with price tag?

                oh well

Neither did I until Sunday, sometimes our hard and fast rules can be broken- this has always been controversial, so to my knowledge this is first incidence of vet found FP's
