If real, he would have been the only German with THAT haircut...

The man should better reenact Russian WW2... Would be much more realistic with that haircut. This is also a mayor flaw in most (if not all) Hollywood movies. Nothing can match the classic German hairdos!

                Kind regards,
                Gerd V

Original photos of Wehrmacht soldiers with that haircut are easy to find. Especially with older soldiers who may have been balding. The long-on-top look doesn't work for people with male pattern baldness.

                    Photo

Original photographs taken with a quality German camera, such as a Leicha, have a high degree of clarity and crisp detail, but they still look different than modern photos, like I believe this one is. As for the haircut, as previously mentioned, he looks more like a Russian or a captured Polish civilian, than an SS trooper, but beside that, it just doesn't look like an old photo. And though such original photos no doubt DO exist, soldiers in the field generally weren't photographed that close. I think the photographer was trying hard to include details of the uniform. It's not convincing to me. And what's with the eye makeup

Repro LAH cypher, I think mud is used (if not photo shop) to hide the bad details. Best, Richard

IF real, more likely a Volkssturm member who found an SS jacket that fit him.
