    SS flute - any information appreciated

    I would sincerely appreciate any information on this old polished black ebony wood flute with nickel-silver fittings and a brass plate attached by two small nails. The instrument measures about 15 inches long. Thanks

    It's actually a fife. It looks to be in good shape, but needs a good oiling. Hopefully there aren't any cracks in it. As far as I can tell, it's a proper SS fife for the Sturm Frontenhausen Musikkorps in Bavaria. They still aren't worth a fortune, but there are instrument collectors like myself out there who like these sort of things.
